Planning your next family trip or weekend date in Taichung?

The official Taichung Aquarium opening hours for 2026 are 09:30 – 17:30 daily (Last Entry: 16:30). Whether it is a family day out, a school field trip, or a romantic getaway, an incredible marine adventure awaits you!

Visitor Rules & Policies

      • Capacity Control & Online Booking: To ensure a premium visitor experience, maximum capacity limits are strictly enforced. We highly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance through our [Online Ticketing Platform] to secure your preferred session.

      • Aquarium Etiquette: Flash photography is strictly prohibited inside the exhibits. For the safety of our marine life, please do not tap on the glass, reach into the tanks, or feed the animals. Do not cross safety barriers into restricted areas.

      • Pet & Prohibited Items Policy: Pets are not allowed inside the facility, with the exception of certified guide dogs. Dangerous items and weapons are strictly prohibited.

      • Prohibited Activities: The entire facility is non-smoking. Chewing betel nuts or gum, drinking alcohol, and gambling are strictly prohibited.

      • Guest Conduct: Please refrain from loud shouting, using loudspeakers, pushing, running, or littering.

      • Child Safety: Parents must supervise their children at all times. Children under 6 years old must be accompanied by an adult, and adult supervision is highly recommended for children aged 6 to 12.

      • Outside Food & Dining: Outside food and drinks are strictly prohibited inside the aquarium. If you would like to dine, please visit our onsite dining options: the 1F Café & Beverage Bar, 4F Theme Restaurant, or 5F Ocean View Café.

      • Commercial Photography: Photos and videos taken inside the venue cannot be used for commercial or publishing purposes. For commercial filming requests, please submit an application to the management in advance.

      • 4F Tidal Pool Interactive Zone: The “Wetland Tidal Pool” on the 4th Floor is an open-air interactive area where visitors are welcome to step into the water. Please bring your own towel and slippers. To protect the ecosystem and animal health, guests must wash their feet before entering the pool. Running or playing in this area is strictly forbidden.

● Information Desk

Our 1F Information Desk offers comprehensive guest services, including transportation inquiries, lost and found services, paging services, and basic first-aid assistance.

          • Wheelchair & Stroller Rental: Free rental services for wheelchairs and strollers are available here on a first-come, first-served basis (valid photo ID required for registration).

● Self-Service Luggage Lockers

For your convenience, coin-operated luggage lockers are available on the 1st Floor (limited availability):

● Small Lockers: $30 NTD per use
● Large Lockers: $50 NTD per use

Note: Please prepare loose change in advance. Users are responsible for the security of their own belongings.

● Onsite Dining & Cafés

Indulge in a variety of dining experiences inside the aquarium while enjoying scenic views:

● 1F: Café & Beverage Bar
● 4F: Theme Restaurant
● 5F: Ocean View Café (Featuring panoramic vistas of the famous Gaomei Wetlands and the Taiwan Strait).

● Souvenir Shop

Located right before the main exit, our Souvenir Zone is packed with exquisite, ocean-themed mementos. Be sure to pick up a special gift after finishing your tour to commemorate your visit

● Family-Friendly & Accessible Restrooms

The Taichung Aquarium is fully barrier-free. We provide thoughtfully designed nursing rooms and family-friendly restroom facilities across multiple levels:

● Nursing Rooms (Lactation Rooms): Two fully equipped nursing rooms with diaper-changing stations are located on the 1st Floor (1F) and 5th Floor (5F).

● Wall-Mounted Child Seats: Available inside all accessible restrooms from 1F to 4F, the 4F women’s restroom (designated family restroom), and both men’s and women’s restrooms at the outdoor Bicycle Station (驛站).

● Toddler Toilet Seat Reducers: Readily available in restrooms on 1F, 3F, and 4F.

● Foldable Diaper-Changing Tables: Installed inside the 2F accessible restroom, the 3F and 4F men’s and women’s restrooms, and both men’s and women’s restrooms at the outdoor Bicycle Station (驛站).

● Official LINE@ Audio Guide

While we do not offer live guided tours at this time, a comprehensive digital audio guide is integrated into our Official LINE@ account. We highly recommend bringing your own smartphone and earphones to enjoy a self-guided educational journey through our exhibits.

● Outdoor Venue Rental

We offer premium outdoor event space leasing at the 1F Ocean Plaza in front of the building. Applications must be submitted along with the completed form at least 90 days prior to the event date. Please review the official application form for detailed terms, conditions, and pricing.
