Promoting Ocean Education & Marine Conservation
Perched at a commanding vantage point along the coastal district, the architectural marvel of the Taichung Aquarium resembles a grand vessel docked at the Port of Taichung. Inspired by the natural rock formations of Taichung’s Lishan (Mount Li), the design team crafted a unique, iconic facade that embodies the essence of local hydrology, establishing the facility as a prominent coastal landmark in Taichung.
Spanning five spectacular floors, the aquarium utilizes experiential storytelling under the central theme, “From Taichung’s Rivers to the Oceans of the World”. Moving away from traditional, passive aquarium displays, we leverage diverse exhibition techniques and interactive activities to reshape how visitors perceive aquatic ecosystems. Across our 8 major exhibition zones, multi-angle viewing perspectives and immersive experiences blur the line between visitors and marine life, inviting you to dive in and wander through the underwater world as if you had transformed into a fish

從海線地區制高點望去，外形神似停靠於台中港內的一艘大船的台中海洋館，其設計團隊以台中梨山的石頭為發想，勾勒出特殊造型且內涵台中水文生態特色的建物外觀，成為台中海線地區的特殊地標。
共計五層樓的台中海洋館，以體驗為媒介，「從台中河川 流向世界之海」為展示主軸。透過多元的展示手法與互動式活動，重塑對水文生態的認知。台中海洋館共有八大展示區，有別於傳統的水族缸展示，多元的參觀視角跟沉浸式的參觀體驗，消弭了觀者及被觀者的分界，就像是化身為魚一般，徜徉於其中。
